This post is simply to talk about what's going on in my life regarding Supernatural and how it's affecting other areas of my life. While episodes will get mentioned, and possibly spoiled depending on how far you are through the 10th season.
While planning being a vendor in Pasadena in November, I've been working REALLY hard. I was so very excited because my friendie Shaun said he was going to come with us and I was ready for that to happen. Shaun is loads of fun and while I would have a great time with Huz, Shaun and I are completely different around one another. We understand the depths' of each others' obsessions on a level no one else I know of understands. Huz is fairly sick of it at this point, but he's humoring me.
Knowing Shaun was going to come made me really happy. Then he suggested we should dress as Sam and Dean, since we are such huge fans. I said okay, sure. One of us had the idea that we should do episode themes every day we're there so that we match and kind of act like the characters from that episode for the day, maybe even have some public dialog formatted like the episode so casual observers might see us acting out the events of the episode.
I was wickedly excited. The Con is three days, so we had to pick which ones we wanted to do. I decided a while back I was going to dress as Lucifer!Sam for the costume contest on Saturday, and he wanted very much to be Demon!Dean with black sclera the same day. Okay, no problem. I'll just change my outfit for the costume contest but we'll spend the rest of the day as Sam and Dean from 10x3, Soul Survivor. (My favorite episode, though Shaun hasn't seen it yet.) It makes sense since it's really the only one that Sam and Dean are physically in the same place while Dean is a demon. It's also the most amazing piece of tension ever. There's this epic cat-and-mouse between the boys that had me biting my nails. It would be very easy to get that kind of tension in an enclosed space if we stated chasing each other around a little with some well-spoken dialog and slightly rapid walking/stalking our prey.
Thanks to Goodwill, I got Dean's red murder shirt for $1. I got a nice, blue/black plaid of the same tone as Sam's for $5.99. I'm even going to learn light stage make up techniques so that I can bloody us up a little bit, because they are always bloody. In Soul Survivor, they had had a fight the night before, so Demon!Dean has some bruising and light scrapes on his temples and Sam has bloodied knuckles.
Another great episode we decided we have to do is 05x04, Yellow Fever, in which Dean becomes irrationally terrified of everything. And I do mean everything. Again, with some good dialog based on the script and us subtilely having our arguments in the public would be attention-grabbing. I already have a nice plaid shirt, and he has something he can wear, just need a few other accessories to make it ours. For this day, I would make the injuries Dean sustains get worse throughout the day so he looks like he's getting worse, and feverish into the evening. I have this all planned out. All of it.
Than my friendie Shaun said he may not be able to make it, which is really a bummer. He and his wife have a lot going on this year I know, and I'm sure he's having a tough time with the money and time aligning. So I'm really crossing my fingers he can come. If all else fails, Huz and I an do the dress and make-up stuff, but he won't act it out. He'll just be focused on the booth and the panels. I'm sure I'll be manning the booth in the hallway and have him in the room recording the action for me so I don't miss out on anything. Please let Shaun come!! It will be much more out of my norm if he's there. And maybe help keep my temper in check so Huz doesn't get it all himself.
